(UNESCO site) in the Ibri region
This contribution aims to present an overview of the results obtained from the extensive surveying, the excavations and the different studies carried out by the multidisciplinary team of archaeologists and specialists of the mission in the two archaeological sites of al-Arid and Bāt (UNESCO site). All these combined results enrich the debate on the origins of the hydraulic structures, the birth of the copper metallurgy and the nature of the 3rd-millennium archaeological sites at the foot of the Hajar mountains and at the gateway to the desert.
