What is CIMA?

CIMA, the International Certificate of Proficiency in Arabic developed by the Institut du monde arabe with the expertise of France Éducation international, is the first globally recognized certification that allows you to validate your level in Modern Standard Arabic.

How is the CIMA organized ?

  • CFO is one of the few accreditated test center for CIMA in the world (~100 centers). The exam is open to candidates aged 15 and above. The registration fee is of 80 OMR. 
  • The exam lasts approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes and includes four components: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing.
  • If you achieve at least level A1, you will receive a certificate indicating your level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, or C2.
